Towns and Activities
Lavers Hill - Princetown

Lavers Hill is where the road reaches its highest point and is a convenient place to stop for a break either on route or while exploring the Otway Rangers .

The nearby Skywalk waterfalls, extensive rainforests and the old timber towns Gelibrand, Beech Forest and Forrest are all a short drive away .They all have old style bush pubs where you can relax and enjoy old style meals and hospitality.

The coastline with its deserted rugged beaches can be explored with side trips off the G.O.R .between Cape Otway and Lavers Hill. Glenaire Beach and Joanna beach(probably most dangerous surf beach in Australia) are excellent side trips. The wetlands of the Aire Valley and Castle Cove are other must see places on this section.

Princetown is just a 5 minute drive from the 12 apostles and is the end of the Great Ocean Walking Track. Situated on the Gellibrand river this scenic hamlet makes a good place to stop away from the main stream. The 13 apostle hostel with its great location is a good place to stay and explore the nearby rugged coastlines. Swimming, fishing and canoeing are other popular activities.
